A few months ago I decided that I wanted to make a change in my life and one of the areas I need a huge change is my health. I have dealt with many challenges as it pertains to becoming healthier, some of my own and other internally, ( I will share more of these stories in my blog) but recently I was introduced to a product that has helped many to lose 5lbs in 5 days, I've personally lost 6lbs in 10 days, but very excited about that small accomplishment. So within the product line I have seen many success stories and decided to create on of my own. Using the dietary supplements and some will power I have decided to embark on a 30 Day Weight Loss Challenge to jump start my change. Feel free to follow my journey or join me whenever you feel like you are ready for a change.

The HCG Diet Works For Me

I have completed a second cycle of HCG program. I have many advise me against it but at the same time they haven't seen me get results with diet and exercise. After turning 40 weight loss became harder and weight gain was inevitable for me. After much thought an research I found several products that work for me.

I originally wanted to address my digestive issues. I found this detox tea that is 100% organic with no caffeine or stimulants. After drinking 2 cups a day for 7 days I had lost 4lbs with no dietary changes. my body was releasing waste and I was experiencing my food actually digest. I continued to drink the tea but then I saw many getting results with HCG of 20-90lbs of weight loss.

Weight 233 at 5'4" my body always had a problem losing weight. I would workout change eating habits some and because I have a muscular structure I would bulk up, and lose a few inches, but would have to fight hard to lose lbs. Yeah many say its' how you fit in your clothes and don't watch the scale, but my goal weight is not to be 5'4" and weighing 200lbs.  I was always 145-155 in high school and was size 8.

Having large muscle mass can be deceiving and when I told people I weighed 230 no one believed me because my body always was proportioned. But at this point I wanted a program in which I could lose weight before I started to workout and bulk up. Many will say well why don't you eat clean? It's not in my nature, I love to cook, and honesty I love great food, not fast food but I have a love for fine dining from time to time. So cleaning up my diet is eating more fruits and veggies and reducing my fine dining to once or twice a month.

So upon inquring about HCG I started the program and lost 15 lbs the first round (30 days), below average but better than I was getting doing nothing. I started the second round in August and did about 28 days, loss 11 lbs for a grand total of 22. Had a few setbacks in round 2, ended up on bed rest and taking meds that required me to eat more to protect me stomach. I finished today at 208... It's not easy, but is not as hard as many think. My goal weight around 170 lbs.

The number one thing to remember with HCG is it is mental. You have to mentally prepare for this program and truly be ready to commit. Second, you must prep your foods. Third, if and when you have a bad or days, don't quit. Get back on and correct what wasn't working and move forward. Some weight loss is better than no weight loss.

So what happens after HCG. HCG is a lifestyle, I now enter phase 4, maintenance phase. I can slowly increase my intake to 1200 calories today eating minimal to no carbs and sugars, weighing at least once weekly and as soon as you see yourself gaining 2lbs, cut back and address it immediately through dietary changes.

The biggest thing I've learned is to keep my portion sizes small and it has trained me not to eat large meals.

It works for me, and plan to do another round in October.

Hit a Plateau.... Apple Day!

So after reaching my 2nd milestone of 10lbs a total of 20 I've reached a plateau. I noticed this in my first round in May also.

When in phase 2 of the HCG diet everyone hits a plateau or sometimes gain a pound or two. This usually happens somewhere in the middle about 14 days into the diet or so or if you attend a social function and have to much to eat. No worries...  plateau happens to everyone sooner or later in the diet but there is no need to get worried that the diet is no longer working. In fact, it is exactly the opposite. The plateau is usually found in people that have been doing really well with the HCG diet. This usually corrects itself in time but can last anywhere from 4-6 days in some cases. This disappoints some people, I sure was, especially when I have gotten use to seeing 1 or 2 lbs drop off the scale daily.

However there is a quick fix to the stall and its called “Apple Day”.  On the HCG diet apple day you are instructed to have 6 large apples and nothing else. You can eat them anytime you want but not more then 6. You are only to drink water to quench your thirst if needed.

Steak day is also an option... Drink water all day and have a steak for dinner.

Only then can you return to your phase 2 diet instructions.

The results almost always result in a smile on your face in the morning when you see your weight loss continue.

WHAT IS HCG AND THE SCIENCE BEHIND IT.

If you want to try the HCG Diet but don’t understand how it works, this brief overview will help you
understand what sets the HCG diet plan apart from other diets. The HCG diet concentrates on
reducing your intake of calories to 500 a day to stimulate weight loss. The presence of the HCG
hormone forces your body to burn stubborn, stored fat for energy to compensate for the lack of
calories eaten. Your body will be eating its own fat; therefore you will not feel hungry or experience
your usual cravings.

1. HCG reprograms the hypothalamus
HCG is a hormone that has been shown to regulate the hypothalamus of the brain. When the body has
an adequate amount of HCG, the hypothalamus burns excess fat stores. Without adequate HCG, the
brain will burn lean muscle tissue before it ever burns excess fat.
2. HCG resets your metabolism
When your body’s natural reserves of HCG are restored, the hypothalamus is triggered to burn the excess
amounts of fat that contribute to obesity. This also resets your metabolism, giving it the boost you need in
order to burn fat quickly. If you have struggled for years with a sluggish metabolism, an HCG deficiency
may be your problem.
3. HCG controls hunger pains
Because your body draws the energy it needs from burning excess fat, you can maintain a low-calorie
diet without feeling hungry between meals. With the HCG diet you learn to recognize when you are full,
which trains you to stop overeating. This is a crucial weight-management skill that you will learn through
the HCG program and use the rest of your life.
4. HCG increases energy
Unlike diet pills that rely on caffeine and other substances to boost energy, HCG gives you an all-natural
energy kick. As your body burns excess fat stores, you will find your energy level increasing. While most
low-calorie diets leave you feeling weak and undernourished, HCG allows your body to unlock its natural
stores of energy.
5. HCG is safe and natural
HCG is a naturally occurring hormone in the body, which is depleted over time due to the chemicals in
our environment and our food. Taking oral HCG is perfectly safe and it does not have any side effects.
Nor does it interact with other medications. The diet plan itself does not call for any chemical-laden
shakes or bars, you simply eat small amounts of fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean meats.
If you have struggled for years with obesity and a lack of energy, the HCG diet plan may be the right
answer for you. It’s a safe, effective, and all natural diet that jump-starts your metabolism and burns
excess fat quickly.

HCG Second round

So I'm back on the HCG program... down 8lbs in 8days. For those that followed the first 30 day challenge you know I made a huge mistake but managed to lose 15lbs. My plan was to go into maintenance for 6 weeks. Well what had happened was.... life, I had about 3 hair shows in the 6 weeks time period and I literally ate out for 6 weeks. But thanks to the Iaso Detox Tea, I managed to only gain 5.... I surely thought I had blown it all.

So with nothing on the schedule for about 8 weeks, I decided to do a second round of HCG... with proper instructions of taking the drops I am pleased to to be 8 days in and have lost 8 lbs.

Pictures don't lie. I'm enjoying the journey and want to inspire and help other get started with their own .

30 Day Challenge - Final weigh in...

Ok, so I finished my 30 Day Challenge on Friday and had my final weigh in on Sunday, total weight loss... 15lbs. Not bad a littles less than average on the HCG protocol but I will take the 15. It's a great jump start and motivation the the next 25lbs. So let me share the good and the bad.

The Good: I started the program out with really good momentum... I lost the first 10lbs in about 12 days.

The Bad: I took the wrong dosage and ran out of supplement and had a few days without and began to gain weight. Once I got back on my supplement I never regained the momentum but still managed to lose another 5lbs.

The Good: I was never hungry, but would get weak or dizzy from not eating. The 500 calories was doable. My meals mostly consisted of 2 fruits (apples and cantaloupe), 2 Crackers, and protien wrapped in lettuce or with a side salad.

The Good: I also have lost cravings for sugar and look at my meals totally different. My body has been trained to snack more and have one meal a day. Moving into maintenance eating 1000 calories may be difficult.

Maintenance: I now will move into maintenance which will include eating up to 1000 - 1200 calories a day while working out building muscle to keep my body in fat burning mode and keeping carbs to a minimum.

I will continue to take the Nutriburst, Tea, NRG, and Techui and share my progress. I really miss working out.

Would I do it again? Yes I actually plan to do another cycle in August when my travels slow down a bit but I finally found a program that can help me reach my wellness goals.

30 Day Challenge Update

Quick check-in...

I have about a week left in my 30 day challenge, down 14lbs. in 23 days.  I was hoping to be at 20 but I suffered a 9 day yo-yo period up and down 4lbs. First I ran out of product, then I had pms issues. been back on track for about 5 days losing on average a pound a day.

Life happens... and I had to hang in their and ride that plateau out and stay committed. Did I want to quit... yes but I would focus on my goals and adjust my eating to bring me back on track.

I'm actually considering extending my HCG phase 2 about a week to recover my week I of setbacks.... we shall see. You can actually stay on phase 2 for 26- 40 days. I will be at 26 days in 4 days, then 3 days of phase 3.

The meals are totally doable as long as I prep. I've added the NRG and Techui for more energy and protein, and I feel a lot better. Definitely more energy.

How to get more energy.

Just ordered my Energy kit with NRG(energy supplement that burns 300 calories extra/day),

my Techui (super food), and drinking my Iaso Tea.

Getting ready to wrap up my 26 day cycle of HCG... moving into phase 3 (3 days with no drops and 500 calories to set metabolism, and then on the phase 4, the maintenance phase (3weeks 1200-1500 calories, no carbs, no sugars, good fats, lean proteins, and workouts). Been plateaued around 10-12 lbs since my missed dosage for a few days and then had the visit from the hormonal demon that comes once a month sometimes twice just to tell you that you are not pregnant... #sickofher But any who... about 6 days left in HCG cycle lets see where I finish... 10 lbs is still a success in 26 days and a great jump start, but I miss working out. I plan to do another round without interruptions in Aug. after travel slows down.

But I have truly learned some better eating habits. 500 calorie meals where not hard to do, I can definitely do it again and it will make eating 1200-1500 calories a day much easier to make better whole food choices.
